Popular where sales reps need quick but detailed shipping cost estimates from the order entry screen in ERP systems, the interactive freight quote use-case uses the Quotes resource instead of the Shipments resource to view rate-shopping, refine any required services, and make shipping choices.
The request and response formats for the Quotes and QuoteConfirms resources mirror the Shipments and ShipmentsConfirms resources. Shipping integrations can also leverage the same asynchronous processing solution, using the ConfirmsList resource to identify and process freight quote updates back to ERP or other systems.
