New Features
The following capabilities are included in this release.
🟨 Mainfreight LTL Carrier Integration
Descartes Pacejet now connects directly to Mainfreight for LTL shipping. Customers can rate, ship, and generate documents for Mainfreight shipments without leaving Pacejet.
🟨 US Domestic LTL Freight
Standard US-to-US pallet shipments are supported. Ship-from and ship-to address, dimensions, weight, freight class, and NMFC all map correctly to Mainfreight, and the pro number is returned electronically.
🟨 US-to-Canada LTL Freight
Cross-border, US-to-Canada LTL shipments are supported. Broker information and a commercial invoice are required for international moves. See Known Limitations (below) for how customs detail is currently handled.
🟨 Residential Indicator
The integration supports a residential indicator on delivery. When a shipment is flagged as residential, Pacejet sends the residential accessorial (RESI) to Mainfreight so it is rated and handled with the correct residential service.
🟨 Shipment Services (Accessorials)
The integration supports common LTL accessorials, including:
Liftgate (pickup and delivery)
Limited access (pickup and delivery)
Appointment delivery
Residential delivery and pickup
Overlength (not used in Pacejet, calculated by carrier automatically)
California delivery surcharge (not used in Pacejet, calculated by carrier automatically)
🟨 Quote ID Management
Rate requests return a quote ID to prove when rating is completed. This value is then passed during shipping as the Quote Reference value. Pacejet users can optionally display this Quote ID on the self-service shipping paperwork Bill of Lading (BOL).
🟨 Reference Number Pass-Through
The integration passes shipment reference values through to Mainfreight end to end, including shipper reference, consignee reference, PO number, pro bill reference, and order reference. These fields are available for data mapping in the Pacejet Carrier Settings for Mainfreight.
🟨 Documents and Labels
Mainfreight shipments use the Descartes Pacejet-generated BOL and pallet/shipping labels, giving a consistent document set across carriers.
🟨 Pro Number and Tracking
The Mainfreight-issued tracking number is returned and displayed as the pro number, so it matches the number carriers and consignees scan and track against.
The mainfreight public tracking URL is https://www.mainfreight.com/track/US/TX17852458771 where "TX17852458771" is a ProNum returned by Mainfreight.
🟨 Third-Party Billing
When freight terms are set to third party, Pacejet transmits an informational freight bill-to address to Mainfreight.
