NetSuite Custom Data — Overview and Setup

Overview

Custom Data enables users to send additional data fields from an ERP system, such as NetSuite, to Pacejet that are not included in the standard integration. In NetSuite, these are available at both the Transaction (Item Fulfillment) level and the Item (Product) level. The following instructions apply to customers using Pacejet Shipping for NetSuite bundles version 21.1 and later (e.g., 2.x connections using the API).

Setting up Custom Data fields from NetSuite involves three main steps:

  1. Identifying Fields to be Added to Integration -
Locate existing custom fields or create new custom fields in NetSuite that you want to import into Pacejet. Note: This article does not cover the creation of custom fields in NetSuite. Please refer to NetSuite documentation or consult your NetSuite administrator for assistance.

  2. Setting up the Pacejet Shipping Settings Page in NetSuite - Configure the required settings in NetSuite using the Pacejet Settings menu.

  3. Setting Up Custom Data Configuration in Pacejet - Define the Custom Data within Pacejet.

After these steps are completed, you are able to use the Custom Data in shipment rules, paperwork and other tools within Pacejet. (See the section below on Using Custom Data in Pacejet.)

Identifying Fields to be Added to Integration

  1. In NetSuite, click the field name you plan to use, such as Shipment Staus.
    The Field ID is displayed.

  2. Copy the Field ID (Ctrl +C).

If you do not see Field ID, you may need to enable Internal IDs. Access to this setting may be restricted based on your user role. Refer to Oracle’s guide on how to enable Internal IDs.

Setting up the Pacejet Shipping Settings Page in NetSuite

  1. From the NetSuite main menu, mouse-over Pacejet, Configure Pacejet, and then click Settings.

  2. Click Edit.

  3. Click the Import Settings sub-tab.

  4. Determine if your Field ID belongs to an Item Level or a Transaction Level record.

    • Example 1 – Sales Person would be at the Transaction level.

    • Example 2 – Item Warehouse Location would be at the Item level.

  5. Select the checkbox for the correct level (Item or Transaction).

  6. Paste the Field ID into the corresponding free-form box.
If multiple entries are planned, they should be separated by only a comma (do not add a space between them).
The following example shows how to add Custbody10 to the import if it was a Transaction level field:
