Overview
The bulk export of shipping data allows access to a broad range of Shipment data. This data can be used to generate advanced analytics, create customized reports, provide historical data to be used for carrier rate negotiations, etc. Unlike existing reports, there are no date-range limits on these exports. Note that larger data sets may take longer to complete.
User-customizable report templates are provided to emulate the data available in the Standard Freight Data report and the Shipment Summary report. The data is created in downloadable .CSV (comma-delimited) format for use in Excel and other reporting software. The fields can be selected, and the data can be filtered by date, carriers, etc.
Since very large exports can take several minutes, the screen automatically notifies the user when the data processing has completed.
Installing the Shipment Rule
Before you can export the shipping data, you need to install the following shipment rule: Create Bulk Export Shipment Report Templates. Refer to RULES Overview for the steps to install a rule.
Installing this rule creates the report templates in the Bulk Export screen.
In the Bulk Export screen, you'll see that you now have the following three report templates:
- Report - Bulk Export Shipments
- Report - Shipment Summary
- Report - Standard Freight Data
Exporting Reports with the Bulk Import/Export Tool
You can export the data without the need to configure the parameters manually each time you want to gather data. There are many parameters to define when creating exports (reports), including the actual data and fields you want to export.
Pacejet exports to .CSV file format (comma separated value). The .CSV file format is a flexible format that can be opened and imported with a number of spreadsheet and database applications.
