GS1 Label Templates and Barcode Data

Three new GS1 Labels are now available in Self-Service Shipping Paperwork – Retail Templates.
GS1 labels are often required by Trading Partners (a business that is a customer of the shipper). The labels may be required on shipments to retailers' distribution centers or retailers store locations. The retailer receives the product in the inventory by scanning the serialized shipping container code (SSCC) barcode.

• GS1 Label - Carton Handling Unit (for parcel shipments to trading partners such as warehouses or stores)

• GS1 Label - Carton Subcontainer (for freight shipments)

• GS1 Label - Pallet Handling Unit (for freight shipments)

These templates support Code 128B barcoding, ensuring compliance with trading partner requirements and allowing seamless scanning.

Editor Tools

Two new toolbar features that enhance template editing capabilities for table customization have been added, including vertical alignment controls and cell merging functionality.

Package Contents

Many GS1 Labels require an indication of what is in the package. Package Contents is now available in the Editor on the Detail tab, Package Sub Grouping. The Package Contents is populated using a Shipment Rule: Set Package Contents.

The Set Package Contents rule allows the selection of Product Number, UPC Code, or Customer Product Number to evaluate the contents of each package in the shipment. Once installed, the rule sets the Package Contents of all packages in the shipment after the shipment has been processed. If a singular content is found in package, the type (Product Number, UPC Code, or Customer Product Number) will be populated in the Package Contents, otherwise, the Mixed Contents Text is populated.

New Customer Product Number Field

A new Customer Product Number field has been added across all major endpoints including:

• Shipments

• ShipmentConfirms

Customer Product Number is available in API (version 3.5).

Handling and Sub-container Printing and Template Updates

Overview

We have enhanced printing capabilities to support 8.5x11 and 4x6 formats across all printing methods.

New Fields on the Calculated Tab

On the Calculated tab, we have added three fields (Handling Unit Sub-Container Count,
Handling Unit Sub-Container Weight, and Handling Unit Sub-Container Quantity) to GS1 Label templates under the Retail Template category.

New Printing Options

We have expanded printing functionality to support multiple configurations, including handling units and sub-containers, with printing triggers available through shipment completion, package closing, print links in Item Packing, and Quick Ship integration.

The following printing options are now available:

• Print only for Handling Unit packages in the shipment, all at the same time

• Print only for Sub-container packages in the shipment, all at the same time

• Print both Handling Unit and Sub-container packages in the shipment, all at the same time

Enhancement

In-Application Release Communication

A new form of notification is available in the title bar. A link is provided in the notification.
