FedEx Release Notes FedEx 26.9

Overview

The Descartes Pacejet FedEx FedEx 26.9 release corrects FedEx Ground Economy rating for multi-package shipments and resolves two Pro Forma Invoice issues that stopped shipments from processing. It also gives the connector a simpler version name. For any questions about specific items, please reference the associated number (if provided) when contacting Descartes Customer Support.

Resolved Issues

🟩 Resolved Issue: Ground Economy Rates Removed When Any Package Fails Validation
Previously, when one package in a multi-package shipment failed FedEx Ground Economy validation, such as a dimension or weight limit, Pacejet still showed a Ground Economy rate based on the packages that passed. That service could not actually be shipped. Pacejet now removes Ground Economy from the rate results when any package fails, and the FedEx error stays in the shipment trace for troubleshooting. (1498359)

🟩 Resolved Issue: Pro Forma Invoice Setting No Longer Requires Customs Data on Domestic Shipments
Previously, turning on the ProFormaInvoiceReport carrier setting made Pacejet send customs details for U.S. domestic FedEx shipments, and FedEx rejected them for a missing customs value. Domestic shipments now rate and ship without commodity or customs information when the setting is on. (1567576)

International shipments that need a Pro Forma Invoice work as before.

🟩 Resolved Issue: Shipments No Longer Fail on an Unrequested Pro Forma Invoice
Previously, a FedEx shipment could fail with a document conversion error when FedEx returned a Pro Forma Invoice that the shipper did not request. Now Pacejet ignores the unrequested invoice, and the shipment completes with its labels and documents as expected. (1498357)

Things to Watch During Implementation

⬛ New Version Name in Help > About: The FedEx connector is now identified as FedEx_20260901 rather than by a name starting with FedEx2022. Look for the FedEx_ name when checking the installed version under Help > About > Carriers or in the Rate System record.

⬛ No FedExOld Rate System on New Setups: The FedEx implementation script no longer creates the obsolete FedExOld rate system. Existing FedEx rating and shipping setups are not affected.

⬛ Pro Forma Workaround No Longer Needed: Accounts that set ProFormaInvoiceReport to False only to avoid these errors can set it back to "True" after the upgrade.
