Flexible Preprinted Parcel Returns-Troubleshooting and Exception Handling

Identifying Return Shipment Errors

Follow the steps below to spot and resolve any issues during the return process.

  1. From the Shipment Confirmation screen, determine if the Return Shipment status (located at the top of the screen) indicates a Return Shipment Error, and click View. Shipment_Error_View.png
This opens the return shipment on the Rate & Ship screen.

  2. On the Rate & Ship screen, view the Shipping error, which includes the cause and the resolution.

Searching for Failed Returns

When a return shipment error occurs, the return remains on the Workbench and the outbound shipment transfers to the Shipments screen.

The ERP and Print updates will not be triggered for failed returns. The outbound ERP update and all document printing will begin after the return error has been resolved or voided.

After the return shipment error is resolved, the return moves to the Shipments page.

Print and ERP Updates for Failed Returns-Exception Handling

The Outbound ERP status of ReturnHold will display on the Shipments page when the associated Return encounters a shipping error.

Voiding Returns

When you determine that the return is no longer needed, you have the option to void the return.

Voiding a return does the following:

  • Triggers the process responsible for the printing and outbound ERP updates.

  • Only deletes the return shipment.

If you void an outbound shipment with an associated return, Pacejet Shipping will void both the outbound and return shipments.
