FedEx Release Notes 26.4

Overview

The Pacejet FedEx 26.4 release continues the major upgrade to FedEx RESTful API technology, delivering targeted enhancements and fixes to improve reliability and processing accuracy.

FedEx has retired legacy SOAP Web Services and now requires all new integrations to use RESTful APIs. This change affects rating and shipping. While this is a significant technical upgrade, the impact to day-to-day functionality is minimal.

All Pacejet customers using FedEx must migrate to the new RESTful FedEx connector.

Enhancements

🟪 Enhancement: Replace SmartPost with Ground Economy

Reflected FedEx's change from SmartPost to Ground Economy while preserving required USPS-related data fields, so existing workflows continue to function with the updated service name.

Special Note: The Ship Code Cross Reference on the SmartPost class of service will be copied to the new Ground Economy class of service and SmartPost the Suppressed flag enabled for SmartPost. Putting aside these automated updates, users are encouraged to review their configuration.

🟪 Enhancement: Hazardous LTL Freight

Updated hazardous LTL freight processing so that hazardous LTL shipments are routed through the FedEx Freight LTL API instead of the parcel dangerous goods API, reducing errors and manual workarounds.

🟪 Enhancement: Refine Saturday Delivery

Refined Saturday Delivery behavior so FedEx Saturday Delivery rates only appear when Saturday service is explicitly selected, helping prevent accidental Saturday charges.

🟪 Enhancement: Return Labels

Restored FedEx return label retrieval directly into Pacejet, allowing users to download and distribute return labels as part of their standard workflow.

🟪 Enhancement: Use of Declared Value Instead of Insurance

Updated the FedEx integration to use Declared Value instead of Insurance for package liability, aligning terminology and behavior with FedEx while maintaining accurate rating and shipment processing.
