Overview

The Descartes Pacejet Manitoulin Manitoulin 26.08 release includes a major upgrade to rating, corrects a postal code and tracking issues reported by customers, and corrects the default URL setup for tracking. This update also introduces new support for Rock Solid classes of services and optimizations to improve performance. New Features

🟨 New Feature: Direct Rating with Manitoulin
Pacejet now requests rates directly from Manitoulin instead of routing them through another Descartes application called the Hub. The rate response returns Manitoulin's quote number, which carries onto the shipment and prints on the BOL, so the rate you quoted and the shipment you tendered are linked. Rating and shipping now use the same connector and the same credentials.

🟨 New Feature: RockSolid Service Guarantee Rate Options
Standard, RockSolid Noon, and RockSolid 4pm now return as separate service options on the rate grid. Manitoulin accepts only one guarantee level per quote request, so Pacejet requests each registered service and presents the results together. You can select the guaranteed service at rating time rather than arranging it with the carrier separately.

Enhancements

🟪 Enhancement: Dimension Validation on Rate Requests
Packages with missing or out-of-range dimensions now return a clear error that names every item at fault. Previously Manitoulin returned a silent $0.00 rate, which gave no indication of what to correct.

Optimization

🟦 Optimization: Parallel Rate Requests
The multiple quote calls needed for the RockSolid products are issued in parallel, so quoting several service levels does not multiply rating time. A carrier setting sends the calls sequentially rather than in parallel, for accounts subject to a Manitoulin request limit.

Bug Fixes

🟩 Resolved Issue: ZIP+4 Postal Codes Failed on Shipping
Manitoulin accepts postal codes only as 00000, A1A, or A1A1A1, and Pacejet previously sent the address value as entered. Shipments failed when Address Validation appended a ZIP+4 to a U.S. address, even though the same address rated successfully. Pacejet now formats the shipper, consignee, and bill-to postal codes to an accepted format before sending the shipment. (1582032)

🟩 Resolved Issue: Manitoulin Tracking URL
Tracking links now open the Manitoulin probill page at mtdirect.ca. The previous base URL pointed to a retired manitoulinfreight.com page, so tracking links from Pacejet did not return shipment status. (1515364)

Things to Watch During Implementation

⬛ Register Every Service You Want Quoted: Pacejet quotes only the classes of service the account is registered for. If RockSolid Noon or RockSolid 4pm does not appear on the rate grid, check the carrier's registered services before investigating the rate request.

⬛ Package Dimensions Must Be Between 12 and 636 Inches: Manitoulin rejects dimensions outside that range. Review default package dimensions on your packaging records so routine shipments are not blocked at rating.

⬛ Confirm Tracking Links After Upgrade: The corrected tracking URL applies to new shipments. Shipments created before the upgrade keep the old link and will still need to be tracked on the carrier site.
