Informational Addresses for Shipping Documents
To improve the flexibility and accuracy of shipping documents, we made updates that allow multiple address types. In addition to Ship From and Ship To, we added addresses that can be used when processing shipments.
These additional addresses are not sent to the carrier or appear on shipping labels. However, the addresses may appear on specific shipping paperwork or be used in other shipping decisions.
The new addresses are listed below:
Ultimate Ship To: These are shipments leaving the country where a forwarder is used. As a result, some export paperwork requires two Ship To addresses.
Freight Bill To: This is the Bill To for the Bill of Lading.
Sold To: This is primarily used on Packing Slips and is typically called a Bill To in ERP Systems.
User Interface Updates
Updates to user interfaces are as follows:
A new screen, Informational Addresses, is now available.
The Rate & Ship screen has been updated with an Informational Address section.
New Informational Address Screen
A new screen, Information Addresses, is available from the Lists menu. This new screen allows users to enter several addresses, each identified with a Type (Ultimate Ship To, Freight Bill To, or Sold To) and a unique Address ID that can be used on the Rate & Ship page.
3G Pacejet Shipping prevents users from deleting records from the Informational Addresses screen referenced in any shipment, regardless of the shipment status (Planned, Shipped, Error, etc.).
The search functionality allows users to search on the following criteria:
- Address ID
- Company
- Contact Name
Rate & Ship Screen Updates
The collapsible Informational Addresses area of the Rate & Ship screen Shipments section has been added below the Tags section. The Information Addresses fields provide the option for users to add Ultimate Ship To, Freight Bill To, and Sold To addresses and an option to edit other fields, including:
Company
Contact Name
Email
Phone Number
Address (Line 1)
Address (Line 2)
City
State/Province
Zip/Postal Code
Country
- When users select Add, the Informational Address screen is displayed.
- When a user deletes an informational address from a shipment, the address is not deleted from the master record and, therefore, still exists in
the Informational Addresses screen.
- The Informational Address fields are not sent to carriers. These fields can only be used for displaying on shipping documents.
- Duplicate Informational address types (Sold To, Freight Bill To, Ultimate Ship To) are not allowed on the Rate & Ship screen.
- Users with the Shipper Lite role can view Informational addresses on the Rate & Ship screen but cannot modify these records.
Informational Addresses Passed Through the ERP
Reference Key
During the import process, 3G Pacejet Shipping will now create a unique reference key for addresses that do not have an Address ID. This reference key begins with IA, indicating it is for an informational address. The key is used to source address data passed from an ERP, ensuring that each address can be accurately identified and retrieved.
Handling Incomplete and Duplicate Informational Address Data on Import
3G Pacejet Shipping allows an import to be completed successfully, even if some address details are missing.

Updating Informational Address Records on Import
When an address with an existing Address ID is imported from the ERP to 3G Pacejet Shipping, the master record (Informational Addresses) in 3G Pacejet Shipping is updated with the new data. Also, all unshipped shipments that contain this address record are updated with the new data. 3G Pacejet Shipping overwrites all previous data except:
Type
Address ID
Consolidating Multiple Delivery Orders with Informational Addresses
When multiple delivery orders are in a planned status and are consolidated into one shipment, 3G Pacejet Shipping assigns the first set of address types from the data set to the consolidated shipment.
Example:
Expanded Shipment Details for Trading Partners
To enable the passing of necessary EDI data for shipments and to provide space for the new EDI fields, the Ship From Ship To section of the Rate & Ship screen has been updated from two columns to four columns.
For users with 3G Pacejet Shipping Administrator privileges, User Fields 4-15 can now be set to hidden on the Rate & Ship screen. However, these hidden fields still accept data input and pass this data onto retail templates (for example, Packing Slip). User Fields 1-3 are always set to display on the screen. However, users with Administrator privileges can edit the label for these User Fields; these three fields cannot be hidden.

EDI Shipment Fields Have Been Added to the API
To allow eCommerce shippers to comply with Retail Trading Partner compliance, the new EDI fields are listed under the appropriate key in the Shipment Details section of the API call. This allows shippers to easily understand and manage the EDI data required for their shipments.
When making an API call to retrieve or update Shipment Details, the response now includes two new subkeys: eComOrderDetails and EDIOrderDetails.
The following endpoints have been updated to support EDI fields:
QuoteConfirms
Quotes
Rates
RemoteShipments
ShipmentConfirms
ShipmentConfirmsContainer
Shipments
VoidConfirms
Update to EDI Shipment Fields During Consolidation
To assist shippers with consolidating multiple Delivery Orders, 3G Pacejet Shipping has been updated to support the following EDI shipment fields:
eCom Order
eCom Date
Store
DC
Dept
Vendor
When multiple delivery orders in a planned status are consolidated into one shipment, 3G Pacejet Shipping selects the first set of EDI shipment fields from the data set and assigns them to the consolidated shipment.
Example:
EDI Fields Included in Bulk Exports
The bulk import UI now provides fields for adding EDI fields in the Shipments Endpoint. Therefore, Shippers can now map EDI fields to the corresponding fields in the imported data during the import process and include them in bulk export shipment reports.
The Shipment Rule, Create Bulk Export Shipment Report Templates, has been updated to include the following EDI Shipment fields:
Shipment - eCom Order
Shipment - eCom Date
Shipment - Vendor
Shipment - Store
Shipment - Dept
Shipment - DC
3G Pacejet Shipping validates the EDI data in these fields during the import process, providing clear error messages for any invalid data.
Once imported, these fields are included in the relevant shipment reports.
Enhancements
The Shipment section of the Rate & Ship screen has been updated to include the field Address 2 on the collapsed view.
