How to Use Carrier Settings with Estes

Overview

Carrier Settings lets Pacejet administrators define carrier-specific defaults and special behaviors beyond the basic options configured during initial carrier setup. Use Carrier Settings when you need to store or control details such as account numbers, package types, reference field mappings, carrier pickup times, and other settings that affect how a carrier is used in shipping workflows.

Estes Carrier Settings Reference

The following carrier settings are commonly used with the Estes integration. Use this table as a quick reference when configuring default package behavior, pickup windows, delivery windows, document output, and hazardous materials contact information.

Use these values only when they match the shipper's Estes configuration and business process. Time-based settings are especially important when scheduling pickups or communicating delivery availability windows.

When These Settings are Most Useful

  • Package defaults: Use DefaultPackageType and DefaultSubPackageType when package or handling unit details should be inferred consistently.

  • Pickup scheduling: Use the carrier and pickup time fields to control the window sent to Estes during pickup requests.

  • Delivery availability: Use destination start and end times when a consignee has appointment or delivery-hour constraints.

  • Document output: Use EstesImageType to match the customer's printer and label layout.

  • Hazmat compliance: Use the hazmat emergency contact fields when shipping hazardous materials that require emergency response details.
