Adding Scan Codes in Pacejet

Setting Up for Single Quantity Scanning

The Scan Pack module now includes the ability to scan not only individual items, but those same items can be set up to be scanned in bulk. This document will show you how to setup individual and bulk products for scanning and packing.

Assuming the products have already been set up in your application, follow the steps below:

  1. Go to Lists, and then click Product.

  2. Select the product by clicking on the name.

    The system displays an Edit Product dialog box which provides details on the product.

  3. To set up the code for an individual item, do one of the following:

      • On the Main tab, in the Number field, enter the Product Number. mceclip3.png

      • Click the Extended tab, and then in the UPC Code field, type the UPC code.

  4. Click Done.


Setting for Bulk Product Scanning

In the situation where you have products that can be bundled into multi-packs for shipping and you do not want to scan one item over and over, then setting up a product with this ability is the path you will want to take.

  1. From the Edit Product Product dialog box, click Packing tab, and then click the plus_icon.png icon.

  2. Enter a scan code and quantity that will work for your business.
    You can enter information into the Type and Description, but there is not yet any functionality for those fields. Those fields are for a future enhancement.

  3. Continue to add as many lines as you need by clicking the plus_icon.png icon.
    If you need to remove a line, use the delete.png icon at the end of the applicable line.

  4. Click Done when you have everything set up the way that you planned.
    Example: The Product Number is BIC-1, so a pack of 6 was entered using 6BIC-1 as the scan code.
