Pacejet

What are the User Roles in Pacejet?

User Roles Overview

The assigned User Role will determine the menu options available for the user. Pacejet does not have individual permissions for each user role that can be tweaked or altered. All Shippers have the same rights, all Admins have the same rights, and all users with the Shipper Lite role have the same rights.

The username appears in the upper right-hand corner of the Pacejet portal. This is the Profile menu which all roles can use to rest their passwords.

Administrator Role

An Administrator Role user can access the Transactions, Activities, Reports, Tools, Lists, and Setup menus.

Shipper Role

A user with a Shipper Role has limited access to menus, seeing only the Transactions, Activities, Reports, and Tools menus.

Shipper Lite Role

A user with this role is focused on packing, shipping, and printing documents. The Shipper Lite role was introduced to reduce risk (regarding editing shipment fields).

Shipper Lite Role access by a screen:

  • Limited access to the Rate and Ship screen.

    • Rate Results and Shipments sections: The Shipper Lite Carrier Selection in the Application Settings determines the access.

    • Users will be able to utilize all license-controlled Scan & Pack modules.

  • Ability to view all sub-sections within the Shipment Confirmation screen. However, the Void Shipment option will be hidden.

  • Limited access to the Shipments screen to check ship status, reprint shipping documents, or perform validation. The Shipper Lite role is restricted from any transaction within this screen, such as voiding and returning orders.

  • Limited access to the Workbench.

  • Ability to view reports: The administrator can enable the reports for Shipper Lite if you would plan to have the Shipper Lite role view reports.

This does not apply to the Reprints screen. The Shipper Lite role is able to view Reprints.

Shipper Lite Carrier Selection

Administrators can select Enable or Disable (from the Rating section of the Application Settings) to determine if the Shipper Lite will select carriers from the Shipments screen.

Whether Enabled or Disabled, shipments with a predefined carrier are not affected; scenarios such as Auto Ship will continue to work in the same manner.

Enabled

When enabled, this allows the Shipper Lite role to select carriers from both the Rate Results section and the Carrier-Service drop-down sections of the Shipments screen. This feature is enabled by default.

Disabled

When Disabled, rate shopping results in the selection of the lowest-cost carrier. Shipper Lite is forced to use the cheapest rate and cannot select another carrier within Rate Results or Carrier Service.
