Third Party Billing Message Fields for BOL – Overview and Setup

Overview

The standard Pacejet Bill of Lading has some dynamic functionality to set the BILL TO section. This guide explores how to use the Third-Party Message fields available on the Rate & Ship page to fill out this section on the BOL if the Freight Terms for the shipment are Third Party Billing.

Third Party Message Fields on Rate & Ship Page

Below is a screenshot of all the available Third-Party Message fields on the Rate & Ship page. Not all fields are required, only necessary fields for the BOL will need to be filled out.

How Third Party Message Fields are reflected on BOL

Entry of Third Party Message Fields on the Rate & Ship page

The Third Party Message fields can be added to any shipment on the Rate & Ship page under the “Messages/Notification” section. These will only appear on the BOL when Freight Terms are Third Party Billing.

Optional: Shipment Rule examples to set Third Party Message Fields automatically

Shipment Rules can be used to set the Third Party Message Fields on import into Pacejet (Typically using the Basic Data Mapping – Copy rule). Shipment Rules are accessed from the menu in Pacejet (Setup -> Shipment Rules).

Example 1: Using existing data to set Third Party Message Fields

This rule would set the field for Third Party Company Name on import.

Example 2: Using Custom Data to set Third Party Message Fields

This rule would set the field for Third Party AddressLine1 on import.
