Product Brief: Pacejet Advanced Shipment Data (ASD) for NetSuite

Solution Narrative

Pacejet Advanced Shipment Data (ASD) for NetSuite enhances NetSuite shipment processing by recording more detailed shipment packing, item, and carrier data in custom records linked to standard NetSuite Item Fulfillment/Item Shipment records. The additional data provided by this solution can improve automation for ERP workflows including EDI, label printing, document printing, shipment analytics, shipment tracking, and shipment reporting.


Prerequisites for This Product or Feature

The following pre-requisites must be met to use this solution:

  • Available for the NetSuite ERP only

  • Requires Pacejet Shipping for NetSuite bundle 20.2 or higher using SuiteScript 2.0 scripts (API connection)

  • Users must purchase appropriate NetSuite SuiteCloud Plus licenses to meet throughput needs

  • Pacejet Scan And Pack or Drag and Drop Packing must be used for ASD to generate package level details. Multi Level Packing must be used for handling units and sub-container level details.


Key Features of This Product or Feature

The following details provide a summary of new proposed features or feature improvements. Based on customer feedback during the Beta cycle, existing features may be modified and additional features may be added.

  • Custom record “Pacejet Advanced Shipment” is used to store ASD data and is linked to standard NetSuite Item Fulfillment / Item Shipment records.

  • Custom tab “Adv Shipment Data” is added to the NetSuite Item Shipment form, providing a link to a single Pacejet Advanced Shipment custom record for each Item Fulfillment / Item Shipment record, displaying fields Name, Carrier, Class of Service, and Shipment Cost.

  • Custom field “ASD Running” is visible on the “Adv Shipment Data” tab and is marked to indicate that a Pacejet update is in-progress

  • Custom field “ASD Complete” is visible on the “Adv Shipment Data” tab and is marked to indicate when Pacejet updates have completed

  • The following shipment-level data fields are provided in the custom ASD record:

    • Name = A system-wide unique ID assigned to the ASD record for the shipment

    • Transaction = Links an ASD record to a specific NetSuite Item Shipment record

    • Carrier = The Pacejet name of the carrier used to process the shipment

    • Carrier SCAC = The SCAC setup in Pacejet for a carrier used to process the shipment

    • Carrier Class of Service = The class of service used to process the shipment

    • Freight Terms = The freight terms used to process the shipment

    • Shipment Price = The price calculated by Pacejet for the shipment

    • Shipment Cost = The cost returned by carriers for the shipment

    • Ship Date = Date and time when Pacejet completed the shipment

    • Estimated Delivery Date = When available, estimate returned by carriers in shipping

    • Shipment Weight = The total weight of all packages in the shipment

    • Shipment Weight UOM = The unit of measure for shipment weights

  • The following fields are provided as part of the “Carrier Shipment Services” tab on the custom record “Pacejet Advanced Shipment”

Restrictions, Limitations, and Performance Considerations

The following restrictions, limitations, and performance considerations are intentional, are essential characteristics of solution design, and are not considered defects for support purposes. The restrictions, limitations, and performance considerations listed here along with other items not explicitly identified in the key feature list are not provided and may never be provided. Please consider these items carefully in your implementation.

  • In Pacejet's load testing, ASD data updates complete in 10-30 minutes in load tests for each shipment but times are entirely dependent upon NetSuite system load, SuiteCloud Plus licenses, and overall processing speed

  • This solution cannot be used in combination with user workflows, events, scripts that interfere with Item Fulfillment updates. No support is provided for diagnosing processing conflicts

  • ASD does not support data from any Non-Pacejet sources such as NetSuite WMS or RF Smart

  • ASD support shipments with a maximum of 500 packages at one or more levels

  • ERP detail on serial numbers or lot numbers is not processed by Pacejet or this feature

  • Only serial numbers captured in Pacejet packing are written to NetSuite by this feature
