It also updates the connector implementation. For any questions about specific items, please contact Descartes Customer Support.
Enhancements
🟦 Dynamic Pricing: New Support via Configuration Setting
The Averitt connector now supports dynamic pricing if your account is set up with Averitt to support this option. To enable dynamic pricing, use the carrier configuration setting noted in the carrier configuration settings article (<AverittRateType>dynamic</AverittRateType>). For more information, refer to How to Use Carrier Settings with Averitt.
Bug Fixes
🟩 Resolved Issue: Rate Quotes for Accounts with Dynamic Pricing
Averitt accounts configured for dynamic rate pricing can now receive rate quotes. Previously, these accounts returned an error stating that the Dynamic Rate Quoter must be used for quotes, and no carrier logs were written. Pacejet now sends these requests through Averitt's Dynamic Rate Quoter. This fix requires a carrier setting, described below in the Things to Watch During Implementation section.
🟩 Resolved Issue: Packages Weighing Less Than One Pound
Shipments containing packages that weigh less than one pound now process successfully (rounding up to one pound). Previously, Averitt rejected them with "Code: 0004 - Weight must be a number greater than 0" which prevented shipping of small parts.
Things to Watch During Implementation
⬛ Add the Rate Type Setting for Dynamic Pricing: If your Averitt account uses dynamic rate pricing, add the AverittRateType setting with a value of dynamic to your Averitt carrier settings. Averitt must also activate dynamic pricing on your account, so confirm your activation with Averitt first. Without this setting, rate requests continue to return an error after the upgrade.
⬛ Test Mode Supports Rating Only: With AverittTestMode set to "True", Averitt returns rates but rejects shipments with an unauthorized account error. Set test mode to "False" before you process shipments.
⬛ Shipper Name and Origin City Must Match Your Averitt Account: Averitt validates the shipper company name and the origin city against the details it holds for your account number. A mismatch returns an error that names the field and both values. Confirm that both match your account record before shipping.
⬛ Verify Carrier Settings Before Testing: Confirm that your account number, access token, account type, and test mode are all populated in carrier settings. Missing values can cause rating or shipping to fail without a message that identifies the cause.
