World Wide Express now supports international freight services to deliver LTL shipments. Typically used to deliver shipments cross-border from the US to Canada or Mexico, the LTL service is managed like other shipments but with additional required information.
Required Commodity / International Detail
As with other international shipping in Pacejet, the Commodity / International area will need to be populated to support exports. If you are using scan-pack or other Pacejet packing options, capturing detail of items in containers will allow Pacejet to automatically create Commodity / International information for some or all of your shipments. This informational section can also be more automatically generated if item commodity information is defined in your ERP integration setup.
Required Shipment Service: Broker Selection Option
A key new area of information required for the World Wide Express international LTL services is the broker information for the shipment. Pacejet users should select the Broker Select Option as a shipment service and fill out the appropriate information as shown below. This detail is required for both rating and shipping, and both actions will fail if this detail is missing.
Option to Set a Default Broker Using a Condition
If your use of international shipping services can be detected based on conditions in your data, you can further automate the Broker Select Option settings. For example, you can create a set of Shipment Rules that automatically detect a data condition and set values for a Default Broker as shown below.
For this example, we're using a shipment tag called "Default Broker". When that shipment tag is added from your ERP integration, then it can be used to activate the Broker Select Option setting as shown below. Other rules could alternatively add the tag based on data conditions.
Once the "Default Broker" tag is added to your shipment, additional shipment rules can be used to fill in the Account Number, Contact Name, Company Name, and other fields in the Broker Record. The example shown below sets the Broker Account Number.
Option to Send Broker Information to Pacejet via API
The Pacejet API supports sending in the Shipment Service along with broker details via integration. If you ERP includes fields for this detail, it can be send in electronically. The specific fields used to transmit broker are available in the Pacejet API in the international section. See the Pacejet Samples page for examples of transmitting this information similar to the example below.
