Enabling Multifactor Login Security

Multifactor Login Security Overview

Multi-factor authentication (MFA) adds an extra layer of security to your Descartes Pacejet account by requiring a verification code in addition to your password.

As an added security measure, Pacejet offers the option of an email-based or test-based multifactor login. This option validates the user through a code sent to the user's preferred method.
Effective in 2026, the use of Multifactor Login (MFA) is now required for all users.

The security code is in the email body text as well as the email's subject line. Depending on the device and the email notification type, the users may see the security code without opening the email.

With MFA active, entering your username and password on the Pacejet login screen will reveal the "Send Verification Code" button. Once you hit that button a field will open where you can enter your verification code and the verification code will be sent to either your email or mobile phone number depending on setup.

Step 1: Pacejet Login Screen, Enter User Name and Password, Click "Send Verification Link"

Step 2: Pacejet Login Screen Now Displays a Box for Your Login Code/Key, Sent to Preferred Method of Email or Mobile Phone

Step 3: Enter the MFA Key/Code You Receive Via Preferred Method, Click the "Login to Pacejet" button

How Often Must Users Login with MFA

Pacejet requires Multi-Factor Authentication, MFA, as part of the Pacejet login process. In most cases, users do not need to enter an MFA code every time they run a workflow from their Enterprise Resource Planning system. Once a user signs in successfully, Pacejet keeps that session active until the user signs out or goes about two hours without activity.

Migrating to Multifactor Login Security

Multifactor login is now a requirement for all Pacejet users. Most security attributes can only be set up by a user with Administrator rights. A checkbox entitled Enable Multifactor Login is available on the Add User and the Edit User screens and will be set to display only.

If you are activating MFA during the migration period, follow the steps below to add the Multifactor Login to a user's profile:

  1. From the Tools menu, click User Administration.

  2. Do one of the following:

    • For existing users, click the username, and then click the Enable Mutlifactor Login Security checkbox. (See screen shot below.)

    • For new users, click the add.png (Add) icon, and then click the Enable Mutlifactor Login Security checkbox. (See screen shot below.)
Note: For information about setting up new users and populating the other fields, refer to User Administration.

  3. Click Save.

  4. Let the users know to watch for the email, and to check their spam folder if the email is not delivered in a minute or two.

The subject line of the email is User Key Validation.
