New Features
The following features are included in this release.
🟪 LTL Rating (Quote)
The connector supports real-time LTL rate requests from Armour and returns the following information to Pacejet:
List Price
Fees = Surcharges and other add-on costs
Cost = Your negotiated pricing with Armour
Quote ID
Class of Service = LTL Standard Transit
This capability enables faster rate comparison and removes the need to obtain quotes manually from carrier websites. The example rate results shown below illustrates the detail returned by Armour during a standard rating or rating/shipping process.
🟪 Shipment Creation and Pickup Request
You can submit shipment and pickup details directly to Armour from Pacejet. The integration supports:
Automatic pickup window default from 08:00 to 17:00
Automatic delivery window calculation
-
Common LTL shipment services (accessorials), including:
LIFT_GATE
LIFTGATE_PICKUP
RESIDENTIAL_DELIVERY
INSIDE_DELIVERY
INSIDE_PICKUP
CALL_FOR_APPOINTMENT
DANGEROUS_GOODS
These capabilities reduce manual data entry and help improve shipment accuracy.
🟪 Tracking
Armour provides a public tracking URL that can be used with Pacejet. The current format is:
https://armour.ca/track-shipment-gt/?123456789
This improves shipment visibility for operations and customer service teams.
🟪 Shipment Void
You can cancel eligible shipments directly through Pacejet without contacting Armour for standard void scenarios. This allows faster correction of shipping errors and reduces administrative effort.
🟪 Data and Mapping Highlights
The connector automatically maps core shipment data between Pacejet and Armour, including:
Shipper and consignee information
Weight (LB/KG)
Piece count
Freight class and commodity description
Accessorial service codes
Residential delivery indicators
This mapping supports consistent and accurate transmission of shipment data between Pacejet and Armour.
🟪 Known Limitations / Initial Scope
The following items are not included in version 26.1. Several of these items will be addressed in a future release:
Transit time detail is not provided by the Armour API
LTL Classifications can be no longer than 80 characters, longer values will be truncated.
The connector is currently not retrieving tracking detail properly for carrier performance or direct lookup.
Activation In Sandbox or Production
Request activation of the Armour connector in your sandbox or production account by contacting support at servicedesk@descartes.com. Our support team will need the following information:
Armour User ID = Obtained from your Armour account representative
Armour AccountNumber = Obtained from your Armour account representative
Armour TestMode = Allows testing without tendering shipments. Use True in sandbox and False in production.
The connector supports separate a TestMode setting so customers can validate configuration before moving to production.
For assistance with setup or configuration, contact support at servicedesk@descartes.com.
Adding The Quote ID To Your Bill of Lading
Armour returns a Quote ID during the rating and shipping process which can be optionally added to your Bill of Lading. You can take advantage of this feature by using any Bill of Lading template in the Pacejet Self-Service Shipping Papework library and adding the Quote ID field to your template.
The screenshot below illustrates using the template "Bill of Lading (Straight Forms) with Packages" and adding the Quote ID field to the carrier information section:
