ADVANCED: Pacejet Label Connector. Configuring Customer-Specific Custom Labels (Trading Partner)

Oveview

All of the following information on the .BTIN file provided by Pacejet. Any changes to the .BTIN file will impact the following steps.

The Pacejet Label Connector supports printing both standard and customer specific labels. This is controlled by setting the value of a custom ERP field which is then included in the .csv file that the Label Connector creates. The value is then added to the %BTLabelType% of the Pacejet provided .btw filenames which are based on the samples provided in the Pacejet Label Connector implementation.

If no value is sent from the ERP for the BTLabelType, the standard label will be generated.

Guideline for Configuring Customer-Specific Labels

The following is a simplified guideline for configuring customer specific labels, and is dependent on your ERP. Full implementation of this information requires advanced knowledge of your ERP system.

For this example, customer “Acme Machine Parts” requires custom labels. The example uses ERP custom field CustID01 to store the customer code AMP-01.

  1. Determine which custom field will be used to store the AlphaNumeric character to identify the customer code (CustID01). We recommend using a field whose value cannot be changed.

  2. Provide the custom field name to Pacejet (must be the exact fieldname and is case sensitive).

  3. Pacejet creates a custom data value to import the value of the custom field when .csv files are created. (CustID01)

  4. In your ERP, populate this custom field with the value with the defined customerID.
    (AMP-01)
(If a standard label is required, the value of this field will be left blank.)

  5. When the custom field has a non-blank value (AMP-01), that value is placed in the BTLabelType field of the .csv files. The value is displayed in the Pacejet Messages/Notifications section of the Pacejet Rate & Ship page. This value is then appended to the end of each of the .btw files that are created:
