How To Retain Shipping Costs in NetSuite

Issue

How do we retain shipping costs on the Shipping tab of the IF in NetSuite?

If the shipping method is updated in NetSuite, then the field shippingcost has to be updated, if it is not, then NetSuite sets the value to 0.00.

That means if we need to retain the cost, we need to record the cost. The Pacejet Integration uses UserField13 to record the cost when the shipment is sent to Pacejet and then Pacejet writes that value back to NetSuite when the shipment is complete. If you are not trying to retain the cost, then it writes back the price from Pacejet when the freight terms are prepaid and charge.

Verification

  • For 1.0:

    • Verify the values imported and exported by looking at recent XML import and update files

    • Ensure a custom rate rules is in place to set the correct cost for the update back to NetSuite.

  • For 2.0:

    • Verify the valued by reviewing the API Logs for the import and update.

    • Below are samples of the customer passing in a null value on the shipment endpoint an PaceJet returning a null value on the shipmentconfirm endpoint.
