Example: Third Party Billing with Mixed Ship To and Default Accounts

Overview

A variation on the first simple example, is using a Customer default account for some types of Third Party Billing processes. Using the Customer “Quezad Lumber Leasing” shown in the previous setup example, we’ll start by entering a sales order and creating an item fulfillment shipping to the “Columbus Quezad” address as shown below. In this example, Freight Terms were set to Third Party and the carrier was pre-set to FedEx Ground:

Item Fulfillment Processed

When the item fulfillment record is processed in Pacejet, the Shipment Details section is automatically populated Columbus FedEx record from setup as shown below:

Re-rate and Use UPS Ground

Similar to the previous example, users could then click the Clear button beside the CarrierService field in the Shipment Details section, re-rate the shipment and select UPS Ground as shown in the screenshot below. Notice how selection of UPS Ground as the Carrier-Service causes Pacejet to automatically load the “Corporate UPS” records for third party billing since it is marked as Default as shown below:

Corporate UPS

Looking back at the NetSuite Customer setup to verify this example, recall that a Columbus FedEx record using the example account “9891251” was setup but there was no “Columbus UPS” record. However, in this instance Pacejet then uses the Default Account “9123491” defined as Corporate UPS for billing.

This simple example shows how some Ship To records can use a unique carrier account while others might not have a record and will automatically be billed to the Default Account.
