Procedure
This KB article will teach you how to setup a Subsiderary xREF in Netsuite and add to Pacejet One World. This will be for customers using Netsuite 1.0 Open Connector and Netsuite 2.0 API.
You should have a working knowledge of xREFs, Subsideraries, JSON / Import Entities.
Legend
First what is a subsidiary?
A subsidiary (sub) is a business entity or corporation that is fully owned or partially controlled by another company, termed as the parent, or holding, company.
Second what is One World?
This is a Pacejet intergration that allows customers to use mulitple subsideraries in the customers Pacejet portal. When the shipment imports into Pacejet the carrier class of service xREF will associate with the correct subsidiary and update back to the Item Fullfillment in Netsuite.
Example
Pacejet customer Acme Inc, owns a company named "DashnChase Company". Both companies need to ship with the the same carrier class of service 'FedEx Ground' as an example. How does Pacejet determine when the shipments imports and how to write back to the correct Item Fullfilemt / Company Acme or "DashnChase Company".
This article explains work flow on how the data is passed back and fourth between Netsuite and Pacejet and setup.
Steps
Part I - Netsuite xREF verification for ONEWORLD
The following steps will apply to customers using Pacejet Netsuite 1.0 and 2.0 bundle. It is applied that you know how to verify what intergration the customer is using: Open Connector or API.
First Step is to login into the customers Netsuite and Pacejet portal.
For the Netsuite 1.0 Intergration, you will select Lists, Accounting, and Shipping Items
The shipping items windows will display and in this screen shot, we are interested in the field "Internal ID" and "Subsideriary".
Internal ID is the xREF that will be used in Pacejet carrier class of services in One World.
Subsideriary field is to show what xREF carrier class of service is associated with.
In our example we will use 9126 FedEx - FedEx - FedEx Freight® Economy to verify this is added in Pacejet one World. How were these internal IDs added?
The customer is responsible for adding the Carrier Class of Service. The customer would click on the blue "New" button and add the carrier class of service associated with the subsiderary.
A window will pop-up as followed and the customer would enter the information and select 'Save'. When the Carrier / Class of service is saved a Internal ID will generate and will be used in Pacejet portal. Now, if the customer was a API 2.0 Connector, they would select from the Netsuite menu Pacejet, Configure Pacejet, and Shipping Items
When the shipment window populates you will see the grid below showing PJ XREF and Name field. The PJ XREF field is the ID used in the Pacejet Portal ONEWORLD
The name field is the Subsiderary to associate with the correct Subsiderary.
In this example we will focus on FedEx Ground and the xREF is: 431The same applies that the customer will create the Carrier Class of Service and link back original class of service created in Steps 4 and 5.
Part II - Verify One World in Pacejet Portal and SQL
When you have logged into Pacejet, select the following Admin, Location Setup, Carrier, Carrier.
You will then see a list of carriers in the customers portal.
Click on the icon as followed to access OneWorldA new window will pop-up displaying xREF's associated with the Subsidiary.
This subsidirary can be used for NetSuite 1.0 (Open Connector or NetSuite 2.0 (API).Now, you are going to notice with most customer Pacetjet portals, you will not see the xREF number associated with this Subsiderary list. You will need to connect to SQL and obtain Subsiderary list for this customer. It is implied that you have a working knowledge of SQL.
This is an example of what the SQL query would look like to obtain the data for xREF and the associated subsiderary.
The following example is the SQL query you can use.
SQL Script for finding xRef based on finding One World Subsideries
You need to verify first in Pacejet portal what subsideries that are using
Customer X is using 6,7,10,11,14,15
USE PacejetSuiteCustomerX
SELECT [CarrierClassOfServiceSubsidiariesSubsidiaryID]
,[CarrierClassOfServiceSubsidiariesShipCodeXref]
,[CarrierClassOfServiceSubsidiariesParentShipCodeXref]
,[CarrierClassOfServiceSubsidiariesClassOfServiceDescription]
FROM [CarrierClassOfServiceSubsidiaries]
WHERE [CarrierClassOfServiceSubsidiariesSubsidiaryID] IN ('6','7') --Chage this to add/remove other subsidiaries
ORDER BY [CarrierClassOfServiceSubsidiariesSubsidiaryID], [CarrierClassOfServiceSubsidiariesShipCodeXref]This is what the SQL query formated in Excel spreadsheet would look like. Remember in our example we are verifying the Carrier Class of Service FedEx - FedEx Freight® Economy.
Now, in some customer portals you will see the following xREF correspond to Netsuite and the subsiderarly list. The numbers respresent the xREF created in Netsuite in Part 1 Steps 4 & 7.
Part III - Adding One World xREF in Pacejet Portal
In order to add the xREF in Pacejet portal, you will need to know what subsiderary they are using. The customer will be able to give you that information from Netsuite.
In Pacejet OneWorld window click on the three white lines "top left" of your screen to activate OneWorld so you can add the xREF Class of Service
You will then see all the Carrier Class of Services display a 'X' next to the carrier. At the far right bottom of the window there is a 'Add' button.
Click ADD.
A window will pop-up where you will enter the Class of Service Name, xREF, and Subsidiary.
We will add 9126 for the carrier class of service used in Part 1 - Step 4. Click 'Save' to complete the process.
Pacejet does not incude the xREF in the description. Best practice is to include this so when you view the Carrier Class of Service you can see this in the description.
Pacejet does not include the xREF in the description. Best practice is to include this so when you view the Carrier Class of Service you can see this in the description. Now, when you view the Class of Service you just added you will see '9126' in the description
that is associated with Netsuite.Next we will want to link what we just created to the Parent carrier FedEx.
Select at the top the carrier class of service 'FedEx: Freight Economy
Click on the carrier class of service we created and then at the bottom of the screen and Save.To make sure that this Carrier Class of Service 'FedEx: Freight Economy' for Subsiderary #2 is linked to the parent carrier FedEx. Go back into OneWorld and then at the top, select a different Class of Service.
IMPORTANT! You have to select a different class of service to verify that the service you just added is linked. You can also clcik on the link and verify that it is connected to a parent FedEx.Once you verify that this is now linked, you should be able to send shipments into Pacejet that corresponds to the xREF that will write back to the Item Fullfilment in Netsuite.
Part IV - Basic Trouble-Shooting
Shipment is not updating the Item Fullfilment in Netsuite
Verify Step I + II in this document
What is the Carrier Parent in ONE WORLD?
The carrier is at the root level when you select Admin, Location Setup, Carrier, CarrierHow can I tell what xREF is being used for the subsidary?
For this, follow Part 2 Step 4 using SQLWe are sending in the correct xREF to Pacejet, but the shipment updates in error with wrong Ship Class xREF reference. Looked at the update and Pacejet is sending back the wrong xREF.
WHY? Because you need to link the Subsiderary Level of the Carrier Class of Service to the Parent.
