Issue
Why did the containers merge into one line on the Bill of Lading when they are two different containers within the Pacejet UI?
Copy of T-Force Bill of Lading
Same order in Pacejet
Resolution
-
Pacejet's logic on whether to combine like items or not:
If the type (box, pallet, etc), dimensions, and freight class are the same, the lines will be merged.
If the type (box, pallet, etc), dimensions, and freight class differ, the lines will not be merged.
-
For the Pacejet Bill of Lading, this can be turned on/off within the report settings.

Pacejet Bill of Lading
Cause
Pacejet groups containers in our request to TForce that have the same type (box, pallet, etc), dimensions, and freight class.
-
Our reasoning behind this platform programming is the container limit that some carriers put on their API requires a method of combining in order to lower the line items sent to the carrier in the rate or shipping execution.
For Example - TForce has a max of 10 line items that can be sent in the rate request. If we didn’t group containers and the container count exceeded that number, no rates would return. The customer would have to split the shipments in order to rate.
