Pacejet Release Notes 26.4

Descartes® is pleased to announce the Pacejet 26.4 release. This update includes security updates to locally installed connector components and a set of resolved issues across freight rating, label generation, shipping automation, carrier reporting, and the shipments dashboard. For questions about specific changes, please contact Descartes Customer Support.

Connector Security Updates

🟦 Optimization: The Pacejet Connector, Scale Connector, and Cubiscan Scale Connector installers have been updated to the current version of the Wix Toolkit. This update addresses a security vulnerability present in the previous installer version. Customers who run these locally installed components should download and reinstall the updated versions. See Key Downloads for Descartes Pacejet for download links and installation guidance.

Resolved Issues

Freight Rating and Markups

🟩 Resolved Issue: When the ship button is pressed, Pacejet no longer calls the connected scale to re-read container weight. Previously, the scale could be queried at the moment of processing, overwriting manually entered container weights with the scale's current reading and producing incorrect package weights on the resulting shipment.

🟩 Resolved Issue: Freight markup comparisons are now case-insensitive. Markup rules that match on carrier names, service names, or shipment tags now apply correctly regardless of capitalization, preventing markups from being silently skipped due to case differences.

🟩 Resolved Issue: Shipment tags containing a percent sign (%) are now handled correctly in freight markup evaluations. Previously, the % character was interpreted as a SQL wildcard, causing freight markups to apply inconsistently when any matched tag included a percentage value.

Labels and Scanning

🟩 Resolved Issue: Custom product data fields are no longer displayed as selectable options when configuring GS1 label templates. GS1 labels use package-level data only, and the corrected interface removes the misleading option to add product fields that would not render on the label.

🟩 Resolved Issue: The modification timestamp is now correctly recorded when a shipment is processed through printing. A regression had stopped this value from being captured during print operations, affecting print activity tracking.

Shipping and Automation

🟩 Resolved Issue: When a void shipment request fails, Pacejet now surfaces the carrier's error message directly to the user. Previously, the failure produced a generic or silent response, making it difficult to determine why a shipment could not be voided.

🟩 Resolved Issue: The username of the user who initiated a batch shipping run is now correctly recorded on the resulting shipments. Previously, a background processing issue caused the username to be omitted, leaving shipment audit records without a user association.

🟩 Resolved Issue: Return shipments no longer trigger automation rules when the defined conditions are not met. A logic error caused automation rules to fire on return shipments regardless of whether the shipment matched the configured criteria.

🟩 Resolved Issue: The Address 2 field in the Broker Select service now displays the correct user-friendly label in the shipment preview panel. Previously, the raw internal field name was shown instead of the formatted label.

Carriers and Reporting

🟩 Resolved Issue: Adding postage to a USPS Endicia account now correctly updates the balance on the first submission. Previously, navigating away from the page and returning could trigger a duplicate deposit transaction, causing an unintended second charge. This correction is controlled by a feature flag for individual customer verification, contact support for assistance from our team.

🟩 Resolved Issue: The Carrier Scorecard in Ship Optic now loads correctly for locations whose company name contains an apostrophe. A SQL syntax error was causing the scorecard to fail entirely for any location with a single-quote character in its name.

🟩 Resolved Issue: The Shipments dashboard now displays the complete list of recent shipments rather than limiting the view to the 10 most recent entries.
