Example: Basic Third-Party Billing

Basic Third-Party Billing

The first and simplest third-party billing example is where users are billing freight to a set of carrier accounts that are unique to a specific Ship To address. Using the Customer “Quezad Lumber Leasing” shown in the previous setup example, we’ll start by entering a sales order and creating an item fulfillment shipping to the “Phoenix Quezad” address as shown below. In this example, Freight Terms were set to Third Party and the carrier was pre-set to FedEx Ground:

When the item fulfillment record is processed in Pacejet, the Shipment Details section is automatically populated with the “Phoenix FedEx” record from the setup as shown below:

Re-rate and Use USP Ground

To illustrate the flexibility of multiple accounts for a Ship To location, users could then click the Clear button beside the Carrier-Service field in the Shipment Details section, re-rate the shipment and select UPS Ground as shown in the screenshot below. Notice how selection of UPS Ground as the Carrier-Service causes Pacejet to automatically load the “Phoenix UPS” records for third party billing as shown below:

Looking back at the NetSuite Customer setup to verify this example, recall that a Phoenix UPS record using the example account “7245245” was setup along with a Phoenix FedEx record using the example account “9791387” as shown below.

This simple example shows how Ship To records can each have their own UPS, FedEx or other accounts which are automatically used as users ship to those locations.
