Overview
USPS is implementing several pricing and policy changes effective July 12, 2026. Because Descartes Pacejet uses Endicia/Auctane for USPS postage, these changes will be managed by Endicia/Auctane, including updated postage rates, fees, and billing. No action is required within Pacejet.
You may notice changes to USPS shipments and postage charges such as the following (but please verify with your Endicia/Auctane account rep):

Ground Advantage pricing
Commercial pricing for packages under one pound will change to a single rate rather than four-ounce pricing increments.

Dimensional weight
USPS is changing the dimensional weight divisor from 166 to 139, which may increase postage for larger, lightweight packages.
USPS will also round package dimensions up to the next whole inch when calculating dimensional weight.

Dimension verification fees
USPS may assess a $3.00 adjustment fee if the weight or dimensions submitted do not match USPS measurements. These charges will appear through your Endicia account.

Hazardous Materials (HazMat)
Priority Mail and Priority Mail Express shipments containing hazardous materials will include a new $7.50 HazMat handling fee.
Ground Advantage shipments may not incur this handling fee initially, although USPS has indicated this may change in the future.
USPS may assess a $50 noncompliance fee for hazardous materials that are not properly declared, packaged, or labeled.
What this Means for Descartes Pacejet Users
No Pacejet software updates are required. USPS postage rates, billing, and any adjustment or compliance fees are managed directly through your Endicia/Auctane account and will reflect USPS policy changes.
