Tags

Shipment Tags provide the flexibility to mark shipments with one or more simple flags that inform users or the Pacejet system of a special status or when to take special actions.

Examples:

  • The ability to Tag a shipment to launch pre-defined Pacejet rules.

  • The ability to Tag a shipment with conditions visible to any user.

For additional information, refer to:

Informational Addresses

Informational Addresses are located immediately below tags when the Expand button is clicked. Expand all button.png The Information Addresses fields provide the option for users to add Ultimate Ship To, Freight Bill To, and Sold To addresses and an option to edit other fields.

The Informational Address Fields are not sent to carriers.

- When users select Add, the Informational Address screen is displayed.
- When a user deletes an informational address from a shipment, the address is not deleted from the master record and, therefore, still exists in the
Informational Addresses screen.
- These fields can only be used for displaying on shipping documents.
- Duplicate Informational address types (Sold To, Freight Bill To, Ultimate Ship To) are not allowed on the Rate & Ship screen.
- Users with the Shipper Lite role can view Informational addresses on the Rate & Ship screen but cannot modify these records.

Package Information

Pieces

Pieces is calculated with all Pacejet Shipping methods: Item Packing (Drag & Drop), Quick Ship, Scan & Pack (Essentials & Enterprise). The Pieces will reflect the total quantity of all products in the package. When Scan Pack Enterprise is used, the handling unit Pieces reflects the number of subcontainers on the handling unit.

Note: In each packing method, re-packing the shipment recalculates the Pieces value and overwrites the previous Pieces field value.

Commodity / International

The Commodity / International section is a summary of the commodity information that is created on import. To properly populate this section, each product on the shipment must have a weight > 0, price >0, and a commodity that exists in PaceJet. The name of the commodity field in the PaceJet import is CommodityName.

IMPORTANT:

  • The name of the commodity field in the PaceJet import is CommodityName.

  • The commodity must exist in the Commodity page in PaceJet (List > Commodity).

  • The data needs to be present on import, or the international documentation will be incorrect and can cause shipments to fail. (Simply editing the Commodity / International section is not enough for many carriers.)

  • The product data is what is used to produce the international documents produced by PaceJet and the carrier.

Rate Results

Price

Typically equal to Cost, unless adjusted by a Custom Rate Rule or Freight Markup.

Cost

Negotiated shipping cost directly from the carrier (this is the amount that will be paid for the shipment).

Fees

Total of carrier applied surcharges, accessorials, etc. Fees are not always available from the carrier and therefore not comparable across multiple carriers and should not be relied upon.

List

This amount represents the carrier's Published/Retail rate. List price is not provided by some carriers; therefore, this information may not be displayed.

Who pays what?

  • Pacejet customer (Ship From) pays the cost.

  • The Customer (Ship To) will then pay the price.

Fees are included in the cost and included the Grand total that the shipper pays.
