Descartes® is pleased to announce the Pacejet 26.5 release. This update includes enhancements to label rendering, along with resolved issues across freight rating, labeling, facility administration, carrier configuration, and login security. For questions about specific changes, please contact Descartes Customer Support.
Enhancements
Carrier Library
🟪 Enhancement: The Carrier Library page now displays a note directing customers to the Knowledge Base for all future carrier information updates. This gives customers a clear, consistent place to check for the latest carrier release details going forward.
Labels and Scanning
🟪 Enhancement: Barcode rendering through Nevron® has been updated to stay stable across a wider range of label layouts and data lengths. Barcodes now resize and print consistently regardless of layout format or field length, reducing the risk of distorted or unscannable labels. This update is rolling out in test mode by-request first, with the ability to roll back if needed.
Resolved Issues
Freight Rating and Markups
🟩 Resolved Issue: Previously the freight class did not update for some use-cases, which could cause the shipment to rate incorrectly. Recalculating weight on a shipment with mixed freight classes now correctly updates the freight class to the highest class present in the handling unit.
Labels and Scanning
🟩 Resolved Issue: Previously, a single quote in the print trigger condition caused the workflow to silently fail without printing the label, requiring a manual workaround. Retail template print triggers now correctly handle customer names that contain single quotes, such as Lowe's.
Administration
🟩 Resolved Issue: Previously, the save operation could fail with an error even though the contact record had persisted successfully, requiring a page refresh to confirm the save. Adding a contact record to an existing Warehouse Facility no longer generates an application error.
Carriers and Reporting
🟩 Resolved Issue: Previously, if a user did not actively change the State/Province dropdown, the displayed value could differ from what was stored, causing registration errors such as FedEx account mismatch failures. The State/Province code shown for a carrier account address is now always the value saved to the database and sent during carrier registration.
Security and Login
🟩 Resolved Issue: Users are no longer shown a login error when an in-progress multi-factor authentication (MFA) session is interrupted by a server process restart. The login page now detects the expired session and prompts the user to sign in again instead of throwing an error.
🟩 Resolved Issue: Previously, the key remained active in this scenario, allowing the same MFA code to potentially be reused. A user's MFA key is now correctly deactivated after a successful login enforced through an MFA feature flag.
New Documentation
Logging In Versus Using Existing Sessions - Explains the difference between logging in and reusing an existing session, helping clarify why users may see repeated MFA prompts.
Sending NetSuite Custom Data Into UserFields - Explains how to map NetSuite custom data into Pacejet user fields, including reserved field ranges, limitations, and when custom data is the better long-term approach.
