Overview
Tags are a practical way of taking full advantage of Pacejet's flexibility. They can be created manually through the user interface, but they can also be created and used by Pacejet Rules — this is where the true power of tags is realized. This article discusses how to create and use tags with rules and how to create tags manually.
Creating and Using Tags with Rules
Pacejet now has many rules that create and use tags, and they make many processes more streamlined and dynamic. Below is a list of just some rules that use tags. The list of tags that employ the use of tags continues to grow.
RULE: Add Tag Based On Field Value
RULE: Add Tag Based On Ship To Location
HOLD RULE: Hold Shipment Based on Tag
RULE: Replace Long Phone Number for Amazon Orders
Creating Tags Manually
The Shipment Tags page located under Lists, Shipment Tags, provides tools to add, delete, or search through predefined tags. All tags should be defined, named, and assigned a color on this page before they are used by users, integrations or Pacejet rules.
Adding Shipment Tags on the Rate & Ship Screen
The Rate and Ship screen provides Tags row in the Shipment section to display pre-defined tags and allow users to enter new tags or delete existing tags.
On the Rate and Ship screen, Shipment section, in the Tags row, create your own custom tag by clicking the plus (+) sign.
Type-ahead support means you can enter some text to locate an existing predefined tag and simply select that value. This user interface does allow you to dynamically define new tags if needed.Type in a tag name, select a background color and choose a text color for maximum contrast.
Keep in mind that you cannot change a tag after it has been used by one or more transactions.
