Billing Accounts Overview
The Pacejet Billing Accounts is a table of third-party billing accounts and addresses. It is located under Lists - Billing Accounts. Some ERPs can create billing accounts during imports; others will need additional setup. The most prominent use is for customers who need to ship and charge their customers' freight account number.
Options for entering data into the shipment on the Rate and Ship screen
There are three ways to enter this data into the shipment on the Rate and Ship page:
The data is entered manually on the page after selecting Third Party freight terms.
The data is pulled from the Pacejet Billing Accounts table. This is called a "lookup".
The data is part of the import provided by the API or ERP integration.
What are the Third Party and/or Billing Account Fields?
These fields are:
Billing Account ID - is used to 'lookup' the third party account details in the Billing Account table.
Freight Account is the parcel or freight account to be charged.
Zip / Country is the zip and country code of the parcel/freight account to be charged.
How does a "lookup" work with the Billing Account ID only?
If there is a Billing Account ID populated, Pacejet will:
-
Complete a look-up in the Billing Account table to find a matching record for the supplied Billing Account ID and the carrier selected.
-
If there is a matching Billing Account Address record for the associated carrier, the following occurs:
The account information located on the records is automatically populated on the rate and ship page for the shipment.
The Freight Account, and Zip/Country fields will be cleared to prevent incorrect information from being used for the shipment.
