Overview
Implementing the Pacejet Label Connector is the first step in preparing Pacejet labels to be printed by BarTender. Beyond the basic implementation there are additional steps that need to be taken to complete the integration of BarTender with Pacejet. These steps include, but are not limited to the following: Testing and troubleshooting your label printing environment; Designing production quality labels; Creating custom labels for specific customers.
This document serves as a guide to help you through the more advanced Pacejet Label Connector and BarTender configuration steps, helps with basic troubleshooting, defining files and documents that Pacejet provides for use with BarTender, and illustrating the sample labels provided with the Label Connector.
It is important to remember that Pacejet cannot provide BarTender-specific support. The primary function that the Pacejet Label Connector provides is generating .csv formatted documents that BarTender consumes for printing labels. Pacejet cannot assist with creating\modifying BarTender documents, resolving user rights issues, troubleshooting error messages from BarTender, etc.
Testing the Pacejet Label Connector Implementation
Use the following steps to verify the functionality of your Pacejet Label Connector implementation (verify that the Pacejet Label Connector is creating .csv files for BarTender to consume).
Stop the BarTender Listener or run the BarTender listener as a Service
Verify that the Pacejet Print Connector service is started
On the BarTender workstation, navigate to C:\PJBartender\DataFile
In Pacejet, process an order that is complete which should generate a BarTender .csv file
Verify that 1 or more .csv files have been created in C:\PJBartender\DataFile to confirm that the Label Connector is functioning as expected.
BarTender scans C:\PJBartender\DataFile for .csv files. Since we have temporarily stopped the BarTender service (above), the .csv files will not yet be consumed by BarTender and will remain in this folder until the service is re-started.
If there are no .csv files in the folder, please contact Pacejet Support for further assistance.
